Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/SCWBAIB/4599.2.1.1 Message Board Post: John, thanks for this information. My DNA (submitted by cousins) places me in one of the orphan lines. Your info connects Samuel to Humphrey's line, so I suppose I can now eliminate Samuel from my list of suspects. It is good to know, but a little sad, too, when this happens, kind of like a death in the family. My Jeremiah is a brick wall. He appears out of nowhere when he marries in 1824, Walton Co. I have had 37 Wellses on my "Northeast Georgia" list and have been researching all of them (and others in SC, NC, and VA) as far as I reasonably can. It is very difficult to eliminate suspects on DNA because to do so with certainty one has to find good research connecting the suspect to a known DNA group (not ones own), or do the research oneself. It is often hard work, and not very gratifying, to do a lot of research simply to disqualify a suspect. You have helped me. One down, thirty-six to go.
