Probably have some WELLS from there but most were from Liberty County. My father's mother was a WELLS from Gum Branch. Until you mentioed America GROOVER, that's all I had on her going forward. Going back from her I show her father as Joshua Davis GROOVER, Sr married to Amy ROWE in Bulloch County on 2-10-1825. Before that I have Solomon GROOVER and Martha Elizabeth STANFIELD, but you say it was SHEFFIELD? And was Solomon's first name David? Before Solomon, I have John GRUBER II & Hannah LATSINGER, then John GRUBER & Mary Magdalene KALCHER, then Peter GRUBER & Maria KROHER. Some information on the GROOVER lines I got from a copy of a hand-typed and researched compilation of information by Robert GROOVER who died in Washington, DC back about 10-15 years ago. It was a history of the GROOVER names from the Salzburgers arrival in Ebenezer in the 1730's to 1979 if I recall. The copy I have is one of his original typed and printed copies that my father's sister had before she died in 1992, and my sister got it after her death and she gave it to me. The Civil War pension application for one of Joshua's and Amy's sons, Rowland Joseph GROOVER (who married Florida Douglass), is on-line via the State of FL. Bob Carter
