The Wells Family History Book does not states where David Francis or Columbus Wells were born but they seemed to have lived all their lives in Liberty County, GA. Their mother was born in North Carolina in 1800 and their father received a land grant in Liberty County, GA for 400acres in 1834. In 1840 the mother was probably a widow since she bought 150 acres on Taylor Creek in her own name. Their mother, Vincey Wells had five children born in Georgia and they lived in the Gum Branch section of Liberty County.
