The Elizabeth Wells who married Richard Skaggs was related to Phillip and Elizabeth Wells, although I am not sure if Elizabeth was a Cook. Most records do not list her family name. Elizabeth Wells Skaggs was the daughter of Samuel and Anna Hamilton Wells and granddaughter of Phillip and Elizabeth Wells. My records say that Elizabeth Wells Skaggs was born on 17 Oct., 1794 and married on 2 April, 1811 in Hardin County, KY. They were married by Lewis Wells, who was her uncle (and was married to Martha Hamilton, her aunt). Oddly, Elizabeth Wells Skaggs had another aunt named Elizabeth Wells who was married to William Skaggs, the brother of her husband Richard Skaggs. They all moved to Calloway County, KY in the early 1820's. That includes the families of the following children of Phillip Wells: Lewis Wells, Rebecca Wells Andrews, and John Wells. John Wells was my GGG-grandfather.
