I would like to find their children, if any, as Blackwell descendants. So far, I believe he is the same Lemuel Wells who purchased the Phillipse Manor House and considerable acreage at Yonkers, New York circa 1815, and built a dock there on the Hudson for steamboats. He owned the property until about 1840, when he was succeeded by his nephew (according to the building tour guide) Lemuel W.Wells. The latter was apparently born in Connecticut in 1803, and married Abi Langdon Stanley, which the 1850 census in Yonkers corroborates. Various internet sources seem to indicate that Lemuel W. was the son of Levi and grandson of Elisha. Eliza Blackwell Wells' two brothers James H. and Sidney Blackwell located around Yonkers circa 1840, which further helps identify the older Lemuel Wells as their brother-in-law.
