I have come across a number of web pages and databases with private information posted about living individuals . If you try searching for your own name on Rootsweb and Ancestry, you may be in for an unpleasant surprise. Worse yet, try a google search for your name. Sonja: Yes, this is great information. I do this every so often as some phone company directories sell the information as well. You can have them removed but they come back. Also, genealogy speaking I found that not only MY information was on a genealogy site but my children. It was from the information I have provided a distant relative ... happened to be a WELLS connection. I sent her a message and asked that it be removed ... she did. I do want everyone to know that with the DNA merge I am EXCLUDING anyone born after 1900 living or deceased to avoid any problems .. so do not worry about the merge.
