    3. You know, I had better luck with a letter when I found my guy. I normally am a 'phone call' person because I am impatient, however, when I thought about what there reaction might be ... I thought it would be better to send a letter with all the facts ... lineage, etc. and they ask if they would agree to provide a DNA sample (explaining it was a Q-tip rubbed on the inside of the cheek -- no blood). I told them I would call in a couple weeks to answer any questions. When I called two weeks later ... a week for the mail to get there ... and another week to discuss it with his spouse, etc. His wife answered the phone, I told her who I was and she just said, Yes, he will do it. Of course, I paid for the test (actually two of us descendants of James Wells split the cost) I can probably find some more descendants of the family ... just did a quick search the other night. 3. Sounds like your letter followed by a phone call worked well for you. I have just found over the years that a personal phone call works most of the time better than a letter. However, I can't fault the letter followed up with the phone call. At 01:21 PM 9/17/2005, Lady Bonita \(USA\) wrote: >You know, I had better luck with a letter when I found my guy.
