The 1920 census for North Liberty Precinct (in Murray?), Calloway Co., I think has your family. But the handwriting is as bad as mine ever was and the reproduction is wretched so it is very difficult to make it out. I would not have figured out that the head of household is James. This was taken on 13 Jan 1920. It appears the wife's middle name is Belle rather than the first. At first I thought it was Gail, but the first letter HAS to be an E. The last two letters appear to be ie or il. The second letter may be an o, a or r. Four letters. The indexer took it to be "v" for Evie. Maybe they had a better copy? James Wells 29 Evie? B. Wells 24 Granville H. Wells 4 (the indexer entered Granville G. Wells but it is H in the census) The age is off no matter how you cut this one. Although it was not May yet, he should show as 6 But this would be a very big coincidence if it were not the correct family. I am wondering if the Halen J. Wells in the 1910 census is actually the same James Wells or even the right one? There are a TON of Wells in this area including several not far from James in the 1920 census.
