    3. I have started to look for the Israel Wells who was the brother of my 4 gr grandfather Asahel Wells. They were sons of Thomas Wells and Olive Newton, probably of Deerfield,MA,who moved to Guilford, VT and then Athens, VT. One of these sightings of Israels may be your relative. Margie G-2      Israel WELLS, b. 11/6/1763, d. 18 Mar 1819, reportedly. Have not found a birth or death record that I am confident is his. Find-a-Grave has an  Isreal Wells, born unknown, d. Jan. 8, 1865, buried New Albany National Cemetery, Floyd County, IN.Found an Israel in Athens, Windham Co., VT in 1800 census with 00010—20100 (two daughters): Israel Wells m. Mrs. Lucy Lyon on 27 Sep 1803 in Greenfield, Franklin, MA (or in Deerfield in Nov 24, 1810, son of David Wells and Mary Taintor). One  Israel Wells m. Dorinda DEANE on June 8, 1815. Both residence Athens. No Israel Wells living separately in 1790 in VT when he would have been 27. There was one living in 1790 in Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT: 1  2  1.An Israel Wells, a soldier of the Revolution, died in January 4, 1849 at age 88 at Greenfield (town records).    A 50-acre plot No. 25 was set aside for Israel Wells in the 1765 plot map of Guilford, VT.
