Edward was the son of Edward Bumpas/Bumpus b. 3/22/1725-26 and Mariah Benson b. 11/24/1748. Edward Bumpas/Bumpus was the son of Edward Bumpas b. 9/15/1688 and Martha Rayment b. 2/28/1717-18 Edward Bumpas was the son of John Bumpas b.6/6/1636 and Sarah Hunter b. unknown. John Bumpus was the son of Edouad Bompasse, know as Edward Bumpus in the Colonies, B. 1603 England and came on the Fortune, first ship[ after the Mayflower. Mariah Bumpus' father, Edward, was a brother of James and half brother of Reuben, Frederick and Sarah. Frederick's son Reuben married Jane Wells in Richland Co., OH in 1835, which is what brought me to this thread in the first place in search of her ancestry.
