    1. [WELLS] Bonita's James Wells b: 13 Mar 1792 NH or CT
    2. LadyBonita (USA)

    3. Everything I have on him says "James Wells" ... James very easily could be his middle name as I have never seen an initial or middle name, yet all his children have middle names. I have also checked Jacobus/Jacob. One of his sons is Justus/Justice James and my direct ancestor is James Fones Wells. His first son was Francis James ... so I was thinking his father or grandfather or even a brother might be a Francis (definitely not on the mother's side)... but all the Francis' I have researched, I find no connection. One record says he was born in NH but all the kids say he was born in CT (which fits with W015) .... I did find a James Wells baptism in England with the EXACT date that is on his headstone 13 Mar 1792 ... father was a Nathaniel. However, I have found no record of him immigrating either through US or Canada (for the records that are available). The records in the English parish did not continue. I did find one young lady with a bunch of kids that was tracing the same family, but she did not have any information on where Nathaniel or James went and was too busy to do any research (she was in England). What I found is in the Merge database in case someone might find a connection. However, this does not connect with being born in NH or CT. I also tried to find a connection with Loyalists in upper VT/NH and Canada ... very little on the WELLS born mid 1700s in VT / NH / CT ... and none seem to have the given name James. They went to Ohio in the late 1820s/early 1830s ... I find him on 1830 and 1840 census, then on 1850 his wife says she is a 'widow' ... she died in 1865 but James doed in 1870 .. so he must have deserted her. There are 3-4 James born 1792 timeframe living with other women in Ohio .. could be him, just can not tell. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated ...
