    3. Denise, My line goes back to the Wellses of Mecklenburg County Vrginia, who trace back to the 1730s and possibly before. Many descendants still live there. The earliest known proved member of my Wells family is David Wells, born November 23, 1730 in Prince George/Dinwiddie County in southern Virginia. Most of what is known comes from a book published in the 1990s called the Wellses of Mecklenburg County by Pearl Wells Wilson and John Hart Wells. Not sure this helps any but that's what I know.
