I am the great grandaughter of Mattie Wells Robeson and Edward Robeson. My grandmother was Annie Robeson, married to William Bryan Messer,(I do not have the year they married). They lived in Madison County, North Carolina and moved to Pickens County, South Carolina sometime after 1930. They were listed in the 1930 census as living in the French Broad Twp, Buncombe Co., NC.
