We have tested on descendant of this family through William Wells Jr. in our Wells DNA project. Unfortunately, he did not match any of the other Wells we have tested. We do not know if this is because this is a unique Wells family we just haven't seen before or since or if something happened down the branch tested. We need to find a descendent of one of the other sons of William Wells & Sarah Westmoreland - namely Ransom, John, George Thomas, Robert, Henry or Jesse.
