Henry served in Company "D", 1st Florida Calvary Reg., in the Confederate States Army. Henry married 1st wife, Eleanor Hunter, daughter of Jacob Bradbury Hunter and Rebecca Downing. Eleanor was born in 1837 in Georgia. Their children are: RUBEN J. WELLS, born in 1855 in Columbia Co., Fla Jacob Bradbury Wells, born 1857 in columbia co., fla Sarah L. Wells, born in August, 1859 in New River Co., Fla Henry married 2nd wife, ESTHER SUSAN HAZEN, daughter of Asa Allen Hazen and Dorothy Thomas in 1867 in Bradford Co., Fla. Esther was born on Jan 15, 1844 in Columbia Co., Fla. Henry and Esther had the following children: Margy M. Wells, born, Dec. 1867 in Bradford Co., Fla Mary Earlene Wellws, born, 1868 in Bradford Co., fla, married William Baxley on Mar 12, 1885 in Sumter Co., Fla. Henry WElls parents are Martin Wells born in 1796 in North Carolina and Sarah Merritt who was born about 1820 in South Carolina. Martin and Sarah were married on April 15, 1832 in Irwin Co., Georgia.
