If any of you have been holding back on the DNA testing waiting for a deal too good to pass up, you have one day to jump on the genetree special. $79 for the 46 marker Y-Chromosome test until midnight tomorrow. The apparently opened it up on the 22nd. They test the same markers we have been using through Ancestry and SMGF essentially since our project started in 2000. The downside is their turnaround time is wretched. 6 to 12 weeks. If you can wait it would at least give you a tidy savings. Ancestry is still $179 less our 20% discount for the Wells project. Their test has a few different markers, but generally we can tell when they "match" an existing Wells family.
