Maxine Wells Wright, 89, of Granville, Ohio (Licking County) will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 15, 2011 at Centenary United Methodist Church, 102 E. Broadway, Granville with Rev. Stephen J. Cramer officiating. Burial will be held prior to the service at 10:00 a.m. at Kirkersville Cemetery, Kirkersville, Ohio. Maxine Wells Wright died Thursday, August 11, 2011 at SharonBrooke Inn, Newark, Ohio with her family at her side. She was born Sept. 25, 1921 in Outville, Ohio to the late Curtis and Faye (Haynes) Wells. Maxine, a devoted mother and grandmother, will be remembered for her talents as a homemaker, 4-H Advisor, and Denison University Resident Hall Advisor. She was a graduate of Union High School class of 1940, where she was a bus driver at the age of 16. She enjoyed gardening, canning, attending grandchildren's activities, and caring for others. Maxine, with her outgoing personality, never knew a stranger. She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Danny and Cheryl Wright, and Jeff Wright both of Newark, OH; daughters and son-in-law, Bev Knoderer of Newark, and Amy and Dave Triplett of New Philadelphia, Ohio; grandchildren and their spouses, Brian (Colleen) Wright, Barry (Peggy) Wright, Camille (Dustin) Foskett, Corinne Knoderer, Abbie Wright, Jacob, Bennett and Molly Triplett; six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; sisters, Hilma Timmons and Harriet Messick both of Granville, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, M. Keith Wright, who died Jan. 3, 1981. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the MCPEEK-HOEKSTRA FUNERAL HOME in Granville. To ensure family receipt, please express all online condolences at www.mcpeekhoekstra.com.
