I have been very fortunate in my Wells family research efforts of late. I hired several British genealogists and made a two week trip to England myself and have made some incredible discoveries. Not only have I been able to trace my Wells branch to Willesborough, Kent, as far back as 1519, I have discovered that our real last name is not WELLS. A 1538 baptismal record lists one of my ancestor's name as "Atwell," but by his death date the family hasd changed its name to WELLS. Has anyone else encountered this?
