I ran across an Andrew B Wells (middle name could be Bell - his father's middle name or Burnett - his mother's maiden name). He was born in North Dumfries, Waterloo Co., Ontario, Canada about 1851. His parents, William 1799 and Elizabeth 1801, were both from Scotland and emigrated to Canada about 1825-1830 (assumed by the birthplaces of the children). I only found one brother, John, but it does not appear it was ever married as he continued to live with parents, then his sister, Hellen/Ellen in North Dumfries. Andrew emigrated to America about 1876-1878 and settled into Le Roy, McLean Co., Illinois. He married 'someone' and had several children between about 1883 and the 1900 census. Andrew is listed as a widower on the 1900 census and does not seem to have remarried and children remained with him. This is the first Scottish Wells I have run across so thought they were interesting. I wonder if they match up with any family in England.
