I descend from Caleb, b. 1767. I, also believe, that his father was Caleb, b. 18 Jul 1743. Have you any additional information since your last posting? 3. Interesting. This seems to be an extraction from the book referenced. But if this aligns with the book there is absolutely no connection with John Wells & Mary Greenleaf as alleged in the reference I was looking at. But it still would be an interesting family to check for DNA as they do not currently seem to fit with any others we have tested. I see the author, William Frederick Wells, had two children Howard Lester Wells b: 06 Aug 1902 William Henry Wells b: 17 Jun 1906 Does anyone have any knowledge of these two? They may have left descendants (as they are most likely deceased or now 110 and 106 respectively). I have been one of have participated in this argument. In all that time there has been no one who can prove that Caleb Wells and Roseanna Peterson are the parents of the Caleb who died in the War of 1812. As of now there is no proof that anyone knows the wofe of Caleb. The Caleb who married Roseanne Peterson had another batch of children and died in Painted Post, NY in 1826. The DNA line takes you to Peter Wells who lived during the 1600's, not somewhere else.
