Hi Sherron,       The IGHS Genealogical Library of Danville, IL, at one time had three small books titled; 1790, 1795 & 1800 census of Kentucky. There were no such census. These three books were made up from tax lists. Over the years the 1795 grew legs and walked away. I do not remember the author. I still have my notes on the Wells. I can post them if you wish?     I would think any good genealogy library would have these books. I have never found them on line. Mr Wells came to Tampa in 1882 and lived here 20 years, leaving then for California, where his family resided ten years at Glendale. At Glendale he was attacked by la grippe and sought health in Bermuda, spending nearly a year there. He returned to Florida and went to Baldwin, where his son had located on a pecan grove, the family having resided there ever since. Mr Wells was born at Windsor Locks CT, June 6, 1843, and his death occurred suddenly at Gainesville GA October 1. he had gone there for his health and was accompanied by Mrs Wells and their daughter. His early education was received at his father's school for boys and at the age of 18 he enlisted in the 1st CT light battery volunteers, serving 3yrs in the Civil War. In 1871 he went to Vineland NJ where as a partner of Sen. PP Baker he invested and lost heavily in real estate. He was married there to Miss Lillian Sykes. You should contact the Wisconsin Historical Society. I am not involved in this site as much as I would like to but anticipate increasing the search for ancestors in the near future (cannot wait to do DNA testing). Wells came from England to the U.S. I know he was born in Nov 1829 in England. I believe he would have come over sometime between 1850 and 1860. The census shows he was in Huron County, Ohio in 1860 married to Hannah and son John E Wells was 8. There is also some confusion about whether he came over with a brother Edward or not. I believe that Edward may be his father who died much earlier than 1850. Any information/advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much. My own ancestors, Col. George Wells and his nephew Richard Wells, lived there from the 1760s thru the 1780s and I am a W003 DNA match. Wilkes County was a "jumping off place" for many families on their way west into other parts of Georgia and later to Alabama and Mississippi.
