I found his records...but no name for his father. I would be interested in hearing from folks that have family in LA or from LA. He had a cousin D.S. Wells, that enlisted him.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: WELLS Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/SCWBAIB/4506 Message Board Post: Dear List, I have rescued two old photos of a young man named Tommie Wells. He is a nice looking young man with dark hair. Spelling of his given name has the "ie" ending and is written on the back of both photos. In the smaller 5 X 7 photo, I believe the young man is a bit younger: probably 18 years of age, or something close. In the second photo, he looks a little more mature, and is in his Army uniform. My "guess" on these photos is that they were taken in the 1950's. Also, I purchased these photos in north central Texas at a sale. They were in a box with other items of a Clopton and Paddy family of Robertson Co. TX. I do not know if these lines connect, but I suspect Tommie Wells may be connected to the Clopton & Paddy families. So, if Tommie Wells is in your lines, and/or if you may be interested in these two photos, please contact me privately at: jmje36@aol.com. Thank you, Judy in TX

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/SCWBAIB/4463.1.1 Message Board Post: Thanks for your reply, Kim. I actually am looking for the Wells line. John S. Wells is my 3x great-grandfather. I think that you are right, at least that Susan Zilhart married John. I have his wife's name as Susan with no known last name, and their son, my 2x great-grandf., is Wesley ZELLHART Wells. Your Susan and my Susan also have similar birth dates, so that is most likely what happened there. So that means that if John Zilhart isn't John S. Wells' father, I have no clue who is. At least I have another branch to add, though, with the Zilhart connection. Thanks for your help. Michelle Wells
