"Ray" WELLS who died in Mt. Airy, Surry County, NC. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi on 7-10-1900 and died in Mt. Airy on 9-18-1951. Unknown if he was married and there is no record of his parents listed. Is buried in Oakdale Cemetery, Mt. Airy, NC. Was a concessioner with a traveling road show. Died of a heart attack. Moody Funeral Home of Mt. Airy handled the burial. Bob Carter Greensboro, NC

    2. There are several Wells lines in Texas. Mine came to Texas about 1829 from Alabama. If you can get back to the 1870's around Austin or Bastrop County, perhaps we have a connection. Mary Beth

    3. Good moring April, I saw your post and the response suggesing you contact me. May I suggest you subscribe to the Wells List on roots web? You may find cousins there and a very helpful community. Just send an email to wells-l-request@rootsweb.com with no subject and the word "subscribe" in the text. You can then hang out or post as you wish. If you will send me what you know about your Wells family so far I will see what I can do to assist you. Do you have any males in the family who still carry the Wells surname? If so you might want to consider lining him up to take the DNA test which could go a long way to helping you short circuit the genealogy search.
