I show eight children, with your Albert the youngest. Where did you find Charlotte's DOB? That's interesting about the Civil War politics (I'd heard the rumor of a family rift). William (my 3X gr-grandfather) fought for the North. Did Albert then fight for the South, and thus the split?

If you will go to the WELLS message board on rootsweb, you will find my posting of 15 Oct, 1999 on Martha Wells/Byrd Williams and their children. Another way, is to click on my name and you will see all the postings I have on rootsweb. I have been in contact with at least one descendant of each of Byrd and Martha Wells Williams children. Georgia "Wells" chaser: I think I have a copy of "The Wells Family History" book that you are referring to. I received it from Malena Johnson in 1981. I have been chasing my brick wall James Henry Wells from Hilton Head SC for many, many years. I have also been to Liberty Church and spoke to a descendant of the family. There are actually two different Wells Cemeteries near the church in Gum Branch. This particular descendant (her name eludes me right now) works at the Church. I was hoping this was my family but I have my doubts too. If you will contact me directly, maybe I can give you some information or make arrangements for you to personally view the book. I live just off I-16 at exit 58 near Dublin, GA. Bonita, the photo isn't coming up for me, but I know the photo and this is my family. Weyman (not Waymon) Wells was my grandfather. I worked for seven years at Purity Ice Co. in high school and college. I have a copy of this photo, taken not long after Mary Francis "Tommie" Smith Wells' death in 1918, hanging above my bureau. Emmett J. Wells' grandfather, Jeremiah Wells b. 1801, is my brick wall. Would love to correspond with anyone interested in these Wellses. Two from this line have submitted DNA samples. They match each other, but nobody else. --John Wells Gillon On 7/24/06, LadyBonita (USA) <ladybonita@usa.com> wrote: > > http://dlg.galileo.usg.edu/cgi-bin/meta.cgi?userid=public&dbs=meta&action=re > > trieve&recno=62&rset=004&format=dlg&h2=vang > > Type: Photographs > Title: [Photograph of the Wells family, Forest Park, Clayton County, > Georgia, ca. 1915] > Date: 1915 > Description: Forest Park, ca. 1915.
