If I could find some I would even pay to have the DNA done. We have always been told we have Native American blood in us. I have researched everyother name in my tree and Wells is the only one left. All I know is Joseph's father died in NY when Joseph was 7 and eventually he made his way to Oakland County, MI bringing his mother at some point. I have been unable to locate a death certificate on Joseph but I do know cemetery records showed he died in Royal Oak, MI in 1899. What are some other Wells first names are you looking for?
Does anyone have any information on a Jesse Wells b: Cir 1784 in Virgina m: Nancy (Brown?) b: Cir 1788 VA. They moved to Barren County, Kentucky possibly early in the 1800s. In the 1850 census there is a 22 year-old Smith A. Wells in the household. Not clear if this is a son or grandson. I have a hunch that Jesse was a brother of the Amos Wells who was also in Barren County and close in age to Jesse.. What I am really trying to figure out is whether William A. Wells, who appears to have died by 1850, was a son of Jesse and Nancy. William's family appears two houses away from Jesse in 1850 and next door is a James Wells age 30 whom I am suspecting is another son of Jesse. Anyone know anything about this family? Orin R. Seeking information on Ransom Wells, born circa 1803, probably in Rockcastle County, Kentucky. I descend from his son William H. Wells. It appears Ransom may have had 2 wives name Adeline; one he supposedly married in Kentucky circa 1826 and later a Mrs. Adaline Hall (26 years his junior) in 1857 in Johnson County, Missouri. Right after his first wife died he married a Mrs. Martha Goodnight on October 16, 1854. Don't know what happened to that marriage since he was getting married again 3 years later. Ransom died in Kob Noster, Johnson County, Missouri Feb. 19, 1881. Any information on Ransom and who his parents were and who his first wife was would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much! Donna

Does this family belong to anyone on the list? This is another gedcom Bonita Hillmer acquired for the DNA Genealogy project. I can not find where it came from and I have some questions. Actually there are two versions of this with one showing George Wells as the husband of a Jane Reagan. Possibly two wives as this show only one son, Joshua Wells b: 12 Apr 1792 in Virginia and the other has 11 children including a Humphries Wells and a Jacob Porter Wells. I think I have come across this family before and I think they have been discussed on this list in the past. Anyone connected to this family, please let me know. Orin R. You folks are going to be receiving a few messages like this one as we try to sort out the gedcom files various people have sent us in the last couple of years. Will whoever sent a gedcom file containing Calista Sophia Wells daughter of Ralph Wells and Eliza Parsons please contact me? The file seems to have triple entries in some cases and several unconnected lines. I know this person (Calista Sophia Wells) is a descendent of family W001 from Thomas Wells and Mary Beardsley through their son Samuel. None of this is in the file although some related individuals are. Orin R. Wells Wells Family Research Association P. O.
