    1. [WELLS] mutations
    2. Leslie W Wells
    3. Orin, Regarding baseline family W006 it seems that two lines of descent are marked by mutations. You had mentioned that Roberts descendants were distinguished by a mutation on DYS437 and yesterday I was reading a post that might indicate that Nathan's descendants may also be recognized by a mutation on DYS452. My question is do we have any idea how far up the tree these mutations run, with which generation do they originate? Thanks so much for your time. Leslie.

Author: brianjhightower Surnames: Wells, Hightower, Oller Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.wells/5164/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hello All! I discovered today that I have family in the wells lineage. My great grandmother is Maude Wells. She was born 06 Oct 1899 and died 25 Dec 1982. Sometime in 1921, she married my great grandfather, William Hightower. William Hightower happens to be a brick wall for me. I think he may have lived a double life. After he died in 1945, she married again to Mr. Oller. I have not found him yet. Maude's father is Pleasant W. Wells (16 Jul 1875 - 1954). His father is John Israel Wells (b. Abt. 1843) and finally, my 4th great grandfather is Hilary Wells (b. Abt. 1808). I have only begun to work on this part of my family line, and would love to connect with anybody that I may be related to. Thank you! 1. [WELLS] Wells DNA Merge Database Status -- problem with Joshua Wells
    2. LadyBonita (USA)
    3. Yes, I am still alive and still working on the Wells DNA Merge Database. I am still working on merging duplicate individuals. In fact, that is one of the reasons I am writing now. I have a problem and need your help. I have been pulling my hair out over Joshua Wells, supposedly the son of Thomas Wells and Phoebe Greene of Rhode Island. I have Joshua with birth dates ranging from 1733 to 1744 in Rhode Island and death dates from 1831 to 1834 in Madison Co., NY. The part that gets VERY CONFUSING is that he supposedly have three sons: Gardiner b: 1770, Joshua Jr b: 1771 and Robert b: 1781 (all who migrated to Madison Co. NY and are listed in the Madison Co. NY History .. especially in the town of Nelson.) and I have 5 different wives of Joshua who claim to be the mother of these three boys: Amey, Dorothy, Deborah Palmer, Sylvia Clarke, Sylvia Bentley and an Elizabeth P. I spent several hours trying to find ANYTHING that would tell me which was the mother. I am sure what has happened is that I have several Joshua's that have been assigned one of two dates for birth and death . and I don't know where the wife's names come from. No, there is no sources for this. Unless I can get this cleared up with your help, my only option is to remove all of them, put them all as separate marriages into W999 (unknown DNA family) and remove the parents of the three sons. If anyone has proof of what is correct, please send me either the URL (please no lineages from other people) to the source or email me the image of the source. If I don't hear anything by next Monday, I am going to separate them out. Thanks . and it WILL get done eventually. I did get bogged down as I started up my own custom embroidery business so promoting it has taken some time . just need to get some orders in. :o) I work on merging duplicates while the machines are running. 3. If you check the Place Index on the Wells DNA merge and look for Dinwiddie under Virginia (do you know the county?), it will give you a list of the people who have an 'event' in Dinwiddie. You might check the county rather than the township/town ... some people don't put it ... or definitely check the township where Dinwiddie resides.
