    3. Seeking info on Joseph Weeks (spelled Weaks on 1850 Census), b.1798 in North Carolina, listed on several Carteret Cty Census Records. Joseph had a son, George Washington Weeks, b. 1830 in Carteret Cty. G.W. Weeks was a mariner and was called "Captain". Seeking info on Joseph's wife/other, who was the mother of G.W. Weeks. I can find no reference to her. Joseph was a widower from this lady and later married Elizabeth (Betsy) Welch Duncan, widow of James Duncan. I have considerable info on descendents of this line, however, I have been unable to find the first wife of Joseph Weeks, or any info on his parents. Any help greatly appreciated!

    3. Richard, Sorry none of the names and places match my Weeks/Weekes. We do have a Joseph and a George Washington like so many families have. Our Joseph was in Westmoreland Va in 1690 or before. And of course, as you know the surname has many variations. Good hunting, Everett ----- Original Message ----- From: Richard Weeks <weeksr@bellsouth.net> To: <WEEKS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, February 21, 2002 10:13 AM Subject: Joseph Weeks/Weaks of Carteret Cty NC > Seeking info on Joseph Weeks (spelled Weaks on 1850 Census), b.1798 in North Carolina, listed on several Carteret Cty Census Records. 3. Does anyone have information on JOHN WEEKS of Sullivan Co. TN when it was North Carolina? He received a Deed of Warranty dated 9 March, 1789. In 1796 Zachariah WICKS had 143 acres "lying on Reedy Creek near Conrad Goodner's line on a former survey of John WEEKS." I think that is the section of Sullivan Co. which became Washington County, Virginia. John Week's daughter, Elizabeth, married Daniel KAYLOR ca. 1789, and lived in Washington Co. Va. the rest of their lives. I will be happy to share information.
