I can tell you the following: John (Green Point, Long Island 1881) was the son of Daniel T. (aged 76 in 1883) of Fort Montgomery, N.Y. who was the son of Thomas (born on Long Island. Thomas may have been a brother of George, of Dorchester, Ma. No evidence of the countrary had been found (as of 1892), and the name Thomas was common in the neighborhood from which George Came. Thomas was born August 10, 1744 and died Nov. 30, 1819. I also find a Thorne of Highland Falls, N.Y. who was an Uncle to Andrew J. (Paterson N.J. 1884) who was the son of James (Born Orange Co. 1798) s. of Daniel. Thorn of Highland Falls had bro. Smith, in a family of 12 children, of whom Thorn only was living in 1887. Smith had Elizabeth (m. Thorn, Lucretia (m. Harvey Blakely), Benjamin Franklin (b. 18233) Thomas Smith (at Fond du Lac, Wis. 1887, unmarried). Not sure if any of that helped ?????????
