Hi Marge: Thx. so much for getting back to me. the Jonathan Weeks I am looking for, his wife's name is Ann or Anna Miller. Jonathan was English and it is thought he was a military man, thus probably why there is confusion about whether children were born in New York or Canada. The majority of us believe, after viewing land records, that the children were born in USA. I don't think the Joseph / Hannah works yet and none of the subsequent generations here in Canada used the name Lewis, thus I tend to think it is not the definite link I am looking for. Despite the Loyalist movement during those times, I haven't found any concrete evidence that our Weeks fought in any battles in Canada. They swore their allegiance, but seems the military aspect died with Father Jonathan. If and when I get more concrete evidence, perhaps I could touch base with you again.
