Hi to all fellow Weeks hunters :-) I think I'm in a different Weeks line. I've got back to Benjamin Weeks, b bet 1735 - 1738 in Burke/Jefferson Co., GA. I haven't been able to find his wife's name, but they had 11 children. Then the family moved to Chocaw Co., MS, then Texas then finally in California. I just started this a couple of months ago, and am getting obsessed, but stuck, with it. Any help or anything I can share please let me know Cherree Weeks Cherree@nutech.com
Hello, Cherree, Sorry, I don't have any answers for you, but I do have an interesting coincidence. My "brickwall" is at Benjamin Sharp Weeks,. b.1809, BurkeCoGA and lived most of his life in Jefferson Co. Jefferson Co US Census of 1880, states his father b.VA, mother b.NC. I have done extensive searching with no real success so far on his ancestry. Several Weeks families are in GA in18-19th century, also several in MS, so you may find something there soon. By the way, we have a Weeks Surname Study Group, formed to utilize the Y-DNA science for Weeks males, to help us in our genealogical research. So far, in the first two months, we have identified two definite and distinct ancestral lines with several living descendants, who each have a common ancestor probably in colonial NC or VA. Do you have a Weeks male relative, father, brother, nephew, etc. who might be interested in participating in this active study? Good hunting and best wishes, Brinson Weeks.
