    1. Re: NY Weeks-to D&BLucas,z1, et al
    2. Hi Cathy, Here's what I have for MI. John D. Weeks, b 20 Jun 1803; m 1 Jan 1826, to Sallie Cutler. They had 11 children, the 10th being James Emory Weeks, b 2 Dec 1847, Hartwick, NY; m 19 Mar 1873 at Hartwick by Rev. David Pendell, to Catherine A. Luce. (She b 22 Feb 1852, Cortland, NY.) They settled in Battle Creek, MI and had one child, Bessie L (?) Weeks, b 14 May 1877, Jackson, MI. I have no further info on the line. I don't show any other Weeks going to MI, nor do I show any Kirklands. Since my genealogy starts with three brothers, Bisset/Bizet, Zechariah, and Andrew (my ancestor), who came to NY from Scotland abt 1775, your family could be descended from one of the other two brothers. Bisset/Bizet settled in NY also, but I have info on his line. I'm sorry that I don't have anything more for you. I hope you find your connection. 1. Re: NY Weeks-to D&BLucas,z1, et al
    2. Hello Noreen, It was good to get your note. Regarding my dead end in Massachusetts: My ancestor from Scotland, Andrew Weeks (Abt 1751-20 Dec 1825) m Anna Dorothy/Dorothea/Dolly Shaver. They had 13 children. Their 3d child John Weeks, b 22 Feb 1779, Columbia Co, abt 2 mi. so of Hudson; d 22 Nov 1848; m Abt 1802 to Lucretia Cline. They had 9 children, the 4th being David C. Weeks. (Is the C. for Cline, after his mom???) Anyway, David C. Weeks was born near Hudson (don't know when, his last 2 siblings were born 1822 & 1824) and settled "No. Brookfield, Mass." That's the end of the info I have on him. My only other known relative in Mass. was Mary Elizabeth Weeks. Her ancestry is: Andrew Weeks, b Abt 1751, prob. in Invernesshire, Scotland; came to NY Abt 1775; d 20 Dec 1825, age 74; m Abt 1775, to Anna Dorothy..... Shaver. Their 1st child was David Weeks (through whom I'm descended), b 20 Mar 1782; d 13 Dec 1867, bu Hartwick Cemetary, Hartwick, NY; m 1802, to Cornelia Conklin. " They settled on the farm of his father-in-law, now (1896, is it still???) in the family of Andrew Weeks", David & Cornelia's 2d child. They had 8 children, the 6th being Robert Henry Weeks. Robert Henry Weeks, b 25 Nov 1811, Columbia Co, NY; settled Cooperstown, NY; d 25 Jan 1856; bu Cooperstown Cemetery; m 7 Aug 1833, to Perthenia Goodrich. The 2d if their 3 children was Mary Elizabeth Weeks, b 10 Dec 1840, Hudson; m (1st) 6 Feb 1863, to Alf. Baird, (2d) 5 Sep 1882, to I. J. Sweet; settled at Richmond, Mass. Did David C. Weeks and Mary Elizabeth Weeks Baird Sweet move to Mass at the same time??? I don't know. So my Weeks relative dead end in Mass. would not necessarily mean the Weeks name is still known. Are either of Mary's last names common? I'm sorry that I don't have any more information on these lines. I've never heard of Weeks Mills, ME. Since there are various branches of the Weeks line, I don't know if they would be related or not. Since I've not been able to find my Scotland connection, I don't know where I link up. Also, I don't know if other relatives preceded my Weeks line or not. Your mid-1600s to my mid-1700s is a big gap, but who knows. I know next to nothing about my Andrew Weeks' older brothers, who all three came to America abt 1773, from Scotland. I'm hoping to find someone who shares the three: Bisset/Bizet, Zechariah and Andrew, and who has the genealogy for the other two. Bisset/Bizet, the eldest of the three, settled "in New York State, probably on Long Island." I've not yet found anyone connected to that line. Your family could possibly be through Zechariah Weeks, Zechariah, "was a sea-faring man, who later in life settled in one of the New England States, probably Vermont." Could you give me a bit more info on your g g'father's sister and sons who lived in Manhattan in 1900? Names, birthdates??? I don't show any Kincaids, but have numerous dead ends. Could they be one of them??? Please let me know if you have any more info. Thanks again for the contact. 1. Re: Ny Weeks
    2. Hi there Tee, I don't know if I can help you or not, but I'll give it a shot. First, I don't show any Morrells in my genealogy, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything, considering I have numerous dead- ends. Also, my genealogy was written in 1896. I have a Ora Jessie Weeks, b 15 Dec 1890 at Hartwick,NY, son of Fremont C. Weeks and Louisa Pashley. No further info on the line. Fremont was the son of David D. Weeks, b 1830, and Mary Harrington. They had 4 children. David D. Weeks was the son of David Weeks, b 1782; d 1867, and Cornelia Conklin. They had 8 children. David, Sr. was the son of Andrew Weeks and Anna Dorothy/Dorothea/Dolly Shaver (dtr of Johannes Schaeffer & Elizabeth Daniels). That's the closest I can come at this time. I know next to nothing about my Andrew Weeks older brothers. So, your family could be through one of them, possibly Bisset/Bizet Weeks, who, along with his younger brothers, came to America abt 1773, from Scotland. The middle brother, Zechariah, "was a sea-faring man, who later in life settled in one of the New England States, probably Vermont." Bisset/Bizet settled "in New York State, probably on Long Island." So, your family could possibly be Bisset's. I've not yet found anyone connected to that line. I'm sorry I didn't have more info for you. Let me know if I can be of further help. 3. Your mail came through to me via rootsweb and I am intrigued. I'm not sure that you are related to my Weeks' but my mother was Minnie Ann Weeks from Weeks Mills, Maine. The original Weeks across the "big puddle" in our family was Leonard who came from England in the mid-1600's and lived in Greenland, NH. Some of the family eventually settled in Jefferson, Maine and were my forebears. There were many large families as attested by the genealogy book by Rev. Jacob Chapman which was published in the 1880's and entitled "Leonard Weeks of Greenland, N.H. and Descendants, 1639-1888." This book can be obtained through the New England Historical and Genealogical Society in Boston. You mentioned relatives in New York City and I know that in the 1900 Census I had a sister of my great grandfather and her two sons who were living there on 307 West 119th Street, Manhattan. However, I just realized her name was Rachel Weeks Kincaid and her sons were William and Robert Kincaid so I guess that wouldn't be a connection. However, you also mentioned a dead end in Richmond, MA. I currently live in Richmond, Massachusetts which is a very small town in the Berkshires and borders on New York State. I do not know of any relatives who were in this area but it is possible I might be able to find out some information for you given some time. And if by chance you meant Richmond, Maine instead of Mass. there is such a place and not very far from where my ancestors were so all things are possible. Would love to hear more from you. 3. The best that I can do is to tell you that the Weeks family that I am researching has roots in Long Island and Brooklyn. What I know is the following. Ralph was brn cr 1896 to Thaddeus brn cr 1868 I believe in Brooklyn. I think Thads father was named Jessie. and had brothers and sisters. I know nothing else. I have looked for awhile and have luck. I know there is other family out there just looking for a little help thank you "Mary A. Johnson" wrote: > Could you be a little more specific as to names, dates, places?
