    3. I am looking for the parents and siblings of McDaniel or McDonald Weeks. Both married in warren Co. IL in the 1860's. McDaniel to Martha Sloan, daughter of George P. Sloan of Warren Co. IL. Mc Donald to E. J Moore. McDaniel went by Mack, he and Martha had son's William "Doss"(short for Dawson?), and George Addison Weeks. Mack was probably born in Ohio. He and Martha went to MO at some point where she probably died. William "Doss" Weeks seems to have been raised in large part by his Sloan Grandparents. Family stories say the boys were orphaned on the trip to MO. Sound familiar to anyone? Any help is appreciated.

    3. Hi Paula. I believe I have some info on your Ezekiel Weeks, but am on my way out of town for several days. I'll hold onto your email and be in touch. He was believed to be the grandson of Thomas Weeks, who with 3 brothers came from Devonshire, England in 1655. One of the brothers drown when landing. Thomas settled in Huntington. Ezekiel moved to NJ around 1750. Would anyone know anything about this group? The above info comes from "The Weeks of NJ" Thanks Paula To Janet, Barbara, Earlene and anyone else interested: Maybe this will be the start of catching up with long lost Weekses outside NY. My oldest known Weeks ancestor, Andrew, came to America from Scotland, about 1773. Along with Andrew were 2 older brothers, Bisset/Bizet Weeks and Zechariah Weeks. My unstubtantiated records state that Bisset/Bizet Weeks, the eldest of these 3 brothers, settled in NY state, probably on Long Island, but I have not found this line of the family. Zechariah Weeks, was said to be a "sea-faring man, who later in life settled in one of the New England states, probably Vermont." This too, is unsubstantiated information, but if true would be a Weeks line outside of NY state. This info is taken from my copy of Andrew Weeks genealogy, written in 1896 by one of Andrew's grandsons, DeWitt Clinton Weeks (8th and youngest child of David Weeks and Cornelia Conklin, David being the 4th of 10 children of Andrew Weeks and Dorothy/Dorothea/Dolly Shaver) and his nephew, Henry Clay Weeks, a great-grandson of Andrew Weeks (7th and youngest child of Hiland Bisset/Bizet Weeks and Allura Camp, Hiland being an elder brother of DeWitt Clinton Weeks). This genealogy can be found at the New York State Library in NYC. In it are various descendants who left New York and went to California, Florida, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nebraska, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Wisconsin and unidentified states "west". Janet, I've not yet found any Weekses in SC. Earlene, your Rebecca obviously predates this line of Weeks, since they did not arrive in America until about 1773. So, there is evidently another Weeks line somewhere. I've wondered if my 3 brothers followed some other relatives over here from Scotland. I've never been able to find their connection in Scotland and have no information prior to their immigration to America. If anyone has any info on this line, please contact me. If anyone would like info on anyone in this line or on any of those who traveled to the states I mentioned, I'll be glad to share what I have. I would also enjoy hearing from anyone else connected to this line. 3. Ron, my Grandfather was Edward THORNE Weeks b. 1878 in Maine. We have never known where the name Thorne came from...do you think there is any chance of a connection? My Weeks family came from England in the 1600's and settled in Greenland, NH. The original one was named Leonard. There are TONS of Weeks' in New England, believe me. My Mom's maiden name was Weeks. Do you know of any connection as to why your ancestor had a middle name of Thorne? 3. Dear Earline, I have not been able to get past my NYC and Brooklyn Weekses. They seem to all have been in the NYC/Brooklyn area from at least sometime prior to 1800 when my ggg-grandfather, John A Weeks was born in NYC. He married Charlotte Sears who was b. 1805 in Hudson, NY. I believe John's mother was Elizabeth, per her tombstone at Greenwood Cemetery in Brooklyn. (No record of Elizabeth's husband is in the buriel records at Greenwood). A couple of documents state one parent came from Maine. My brother-in-law is trying to run that one down as we speak. We are at a brick wall with our Weeks family!! My Weeks ancestors are 3)William Edward Weeks, g-grandfather, 2)Joseph Mont Weeks, gg-grandfather, 1)John A Weeks, ggg-grandfather. There may be an Edsall connection. I'd love to help you out; perhaps we do have a connection. A big problem is with the census takers and the household servants who answered the enumerators questions!! Our branch seems to be a small one so finding descendants is problematic too. Good luck in your search ! 3. I am looking for any info on McDaniel "Mack" and Martha Sloan Weeks. They married in Warren co IL and had 2 sons, William "Doss" and George Addison Weeks. Mack was born in Ohio I think and may have remarried an E. J. Moore. They were in MO at sometime and Martha and Mack may have died there. Where in MO I don't know. William married Rose Doolittle in Mercer IL. George married Lyde Lambert, probably in MO, Andrew Co area possibly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am particularly interested in Mack's parents and where he and Martha died. Paula
