    3. My husband's ggrandfather ws Ira Ebenezer Weeks or otherwise known as Ebb. His father was Ebenezer Weeks also. Ebenezer the elder came from SC as did Ebb and they ventured down into Florida where Ebb married Nancy Artemis Anderson, who was suppose to have been a Creek Indian maiden. We've been able to connect her mother to the Creek nation, but not her fther, Willie Anderson. Artemis died in 1906 birthing her 13th child. Any information on the above Weeks' would be appreciated. Margaret Smile and make people wonder what you have been up to. The bigger the smile, the more they will wonder. _________________________________________________________________ Help STOP SPAM with the new MSN 8 and get 2 months FREE* http://join.msn.com/?page=features/junkmail

    3. Hi; Yes, both John A's were lawyers. It states that they are known to be descendants of Francis Weeks of Oyster Bay. I find a couple of Johns associated with Francis, but not sure how they fit in. One John had an only son named Nathaniel who died without issue. Another ..John sr. in will of Nov. 15, 1748 and proved in 1757, names wife Mary, sons George and John, and g. daughters Mary wife of Josephh Lattin, and Mary wife of Jacob Townsend. Another.... John sr. in will dated 1781 names wife Rebecca; children Jane, John (deceased) , Augustus, Anne, Elizabeth, Judah, Ruth, Charlotte; grandsons, William, Refine, John; d.-in law Elizabeth. I hope I have not really confussed you...Sorry I can't help with any wives surnames. 3. Hi Paula; Unfortunately the author of the two Weeks books followed the Massachusetts families more closely and with more detail. The Long Island families were quickly mentioned, but not in detail. Book II states " The fllowing are known or believed to be of the Oyster Bay family ".....but, follow this. George of Hempstead, L.I. was son of George, son of Thomas (died Feb. 18, 1761, aged 74 y. 6 m., 14 d) who had BROTHER EZEKIEL.....but I can't find a son named Ezekial under Thomas. I did find Ezekial, born May 4 and Baptized June 8, 1729, son of Joseph 3 ( Thomas 2; Thomas 1) . Joseph married Hannah Lewis.. Ezekiel married March 28, 1756, Sarah (b. 1730) Haviland, of Oyster Bay; died March 26, 1808; she died Nov or Dec. 7, 1808. He lived at Comac and was driven from his home by the British 1778. May have moved to Conn. Children listed; Jesse; William; Lewis; Sarah; Freelove. That's about it.......have I hit anything for you ???? Don't be affraid to write back should you find some more leads..........but.........nothing more, whatsoever on Ezekiel. Chow for now.... 2. Hello,Everyone,I have been watching as everyone posts their wants for different Weeks lines, I am from the same line as Paula, Ezekiel, what I find most facinating is that there is a Van Zandt Texas.VanSant (another spelling of Van Zandt) along with the surname Sears are quite frequent where our Ezekiel settles in New Jersey.Paula check your Heart of the Pines Book.Does all this mean something?Perhaps? 2. Randy, Have you try Ireland on your WEEKS. My line was supposed to originate from there. Also try Alabama my WEEKS came through there on to Van Zandt County, Texas Ron Date: 5/16/2003 7:26:58 PM Central Daylight Time I wish I could help you in your Weeks search, but so far cannot find anything that jibes. The closest I can find of Weeks mentioned in my Weeks book, of so. Carolina....Robert S., trial justice and surveyor, Reevesville, S. Carolina. 1884, had a father living, also in Car. Also said there were many persons of the name in the Carolinas. Perhaps if you contacted all the town or city halls in the various areas, they might help, but it would cost....unless they couldn't find anything associated with your particular search, and then usually there is no charge. All my family are tracked from 1635 when they first came to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, but I can't trace them back to England. Randy Weeks

    3. Was John A. Weekes of New York City and Oyster Bay, 1885 a lawyer, who also had a son(lawyer) named John A. ?? There are so very many persons named John in my books, it would take me hours to try to find the right one. If his wife Sear was listed it would be much easier. 3. Ezekiel, b. Long Island about 1750, removed to New Jersey and settled near Egg Harbor at a place named (perhaps from him) Weekstown, now in Atlantic Co. He had wife Elizabeth, and children, William, Daniel, Esther, Mary, James, Isaiah, Rebecca, Samuel, Job, Hannah, Elizabeth, Zephaniah, (order not certain) William (w, Margaret0 had Elizabeth, Joseph, Susan, Mary, Blumy, Henry. Daniel (b. 1782, d. 1844, w. Ann) had Lucy Ann, Fanny, Frank, Benjamin E. (Camden, N.J. 1883), Daniel..... Have a lot of other stuff...too much for now....page 292/93 book I ..Genealogy of the Family of George Weekes of Dorchester, Ma. with some information of other Weeks families...........Book II, same title , perhaps a lot more, but starts....Ezekiel of Weekstoen, N.J. had s. Zephaniak who removed to Franklinville, where he built the first house and sawmill; he m. Mary Meyers and had sons Zephaniah, Amariah, Ezekiel, Charles, John, and daughters Sarah (m. Cook, d. Norristown, Pa. 1848 aged 81), Martha (m. Turrill)................etc.page 96-97. 3. Randy, My John A. Weeks was a master cooper. In the family plot at Greenwood Cem Brkyn, there was a very badly worn marker for Elizabeth Weeks "mother". She is listed in the burial transcripts, having passed away the 7/8 of May 1863. I would love to know more about this family. I found, but didn't purchase, a memorial booklet commemorating an anniversary of the NYGBS in 1875--there was a member listing for John Abeel Weeks--possibly my ancestor. Wish we could make a connection, but, as you said, there were a lot of John Weeks! 3. I can tell you the following: John (Green Point, Long Island 1881) was the son of Daniel T. (aged 76 in 1883) of Fort Montgomery, N.Y. who was the son of Thomas (born on Long Island. Thomas may have been a brother of George, of Dorchester, Ma. No evidence of the countrary had been found (as of 1892), and the name Thomas was common in the neighborhood from which George Came. Thomas was born August 10, 1744 and died Nov. 30, 1819. I also find a Thorne of Highland Falls, N.Y. who was an Uncle to Andrew J. (Paterson N.J. 1884) who was the son of James (Born Orange Co. 1798) s. of Daniel. Thorn of Highland Falls had bro. Smith, in a family of 12 children, of whom Thorn only was living in 1887. Smith had Elizabeth (m. Thorn, Lucretia (m. Harvey Blakely), Benjamin Franklin (b. 18233) Thomas Smith (at Fond du Lac, Wis. 1887, unmarried). Not sure if any of that helped ????????? He was believed to be the grandson of Thomas Weeks, who with 3 brothers came from Devonshire, England in 1655. One of the brothers drown when landing. Thomas settled in Huntington. Ezekiel moved to NJ around 1750. Would anyone know anything about this group? Along with Andrew were 2 older brothers, Bisset/Bizet Weeks and Zechariah Weeks. My unstubtantiated records state that Bisset/Bizet Weeks, the eldest of these 3 brothers, settled in NY state, probably on Long Island, but I have not found this line of the family. Zechariah Weeks, was said to be a "sea-faring man, who later in life settled in one of the New England states, probably Vermont." This too, is unsubstantiated information, but if true would be a Weeks line outside of NY state. > > This info is taken from my copy of Andrew Weeks genealogy, written in 1896 by one of Andrew's grandsons, DeWitt Clinton Weeks (8th and youngest child of David Weeks and Cornelia Conklin, David being the 4th of 10 children of Andrew Weeks and Dorothy/Dorothea/Dolly Shaver) and his nephew, Henry Clay Weeks, a great-grandson of Andrew Weeks (7th and youngest child of Hiland Bisset/Bizet Weeks and Allura Camp, Hiland being an elder brother of DeWitt Clinton Weeks). > > This genealogy can be found at the New York State Library in NYC. 1. southern Weeks
    2. Margaret Sessions
    3. My husband's family is riddled with Weeks on both sides of his family. His mother was Weeks, they came from north Florida, but, I believe that the original Weeks to come to the US was from Scotland and probably named Ebenezer as there were several Ebenezers in the family. His ggrandfather's name was Ira Ebenezer Weeks and was called Ebb. That's how he signed most everything and how he is listed in the census'. Guess the census taker couldn't spell Ebenezer. Margaret Have a great day, and don't forget to smile at someone, every time you give away a smile, it returns back to you multiple times. The only thing I know that you give away that gives back more. _________________________________________________________________ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN 8.
