    2. Hi Shirley - I saw your response to my posting to Betty on Jeremiah Webb. You may not recall, but you were nice enough to send me your list of Webbs a couple of weeks ago. I am descended from Meredith E. Webb as well through his son Jefferson. Jefferson's son John Henry Webb b. 11-8-1873 is my great-great-grandfather. This is completely unsubstantiated but since receiving your list, I found a Rootsweb Message Board posting by a Donald Jamison that stated he is in possession of a family record of John Galvin Webb b. about 1690 in Wales. This family record claims that John Galvin Webb, his wife (unknown name) and children emigrated to America in 1722. All 5 of his sons served in the Revolutionary War which are the following: John Webb Jr. m. Elizabeth Corbin Benjamin Webb William Webb Henry Webb Lucius Webb The family record (as cited from the message board posting) goes on to say that John Webb and Elizabeth Corbin who are believed to have been married and died in Blount Co., TN had the following children: Jeremiah Webb John Webb Meredith Burton Webb Millie Webb Rosanna Webb Based on the hypothesis of this family record, you can understand my question to Betty if the bible records or other documents she had, confirmed that Meredith Burton Webb's father was Jeremiah Webb of Kentucky. I have not had the opportunity yet, but when I get the chance, I am going to try to track down this family record that I stated above and see I can get a copy of it. Maybe this individual has documents as well that can either prove or disprove. I wish my ancestor could have been named something else other than John Webb. Might as well have been John Smith. Until then, Webb Cousin, I am in search of a John Webb whose son was Meredith E. Webb. Have you ever found out what the "E" stands for? Have a good day, Lisa Webb Dodson Houston, TX

    3. Lisa - Sorry, I didn't make the connection - glad you got the info I sent. Can you tell me who Earl Webb is that wrote the history of the Webbs and how to get a copy. I've been off the list for a while but when I was told a discussion had started on Jeremiah Webb, I thought I'd better get back on. No one seems to know what the "E" in Meredith E. Webb stands for. Does anyone know of a Anthony Webb or a Webb mother with a maiden name of Anthony. Meredith's oldest son was named Anthony - trying all the angles. Right now we've been leaning towards a John Webb married to a Sarah as Meredith's father. We have a copy of a legal document dated 13 Dec 1838 where a couple of men say that after being duly sworn, they have proceeded to set apart much of the crops and provisions on hand to last Sarah and her family for a year. It lists a Sarah Webb as widow of John Webb. The final inventory was taken in Feb 1839. Our Meredith lands in Shelby County, Texas with a date of emigration almost to the month a year later, Apr 1840 and his witnesses are Sarah Webb and W. K. Myrick. This John Webb could probably be a brother of Meredith Burton Webb. Incidentally, our Meredith was born in 1803 in NC with a father born in NC and a mother born in Germany. Hope some of these facts might fit somebody's Webbs........Shirley ----- Original Message ----- From: LDodson911@aol.com To: WEBB-L@rootsweb.com Sent: Sunday, February 17, 2002 9:17 PM Subject: [WEBB] Re: Jeremiah Webb - KY Hi Shirley - I saw your response to my posting to Betty on Jeremiah Webb.
