Sounds like a good idea to me, Mary... Here's my Webb line, such as it is. I have one heckufa brick wall. My gg-grandfather was William Douglas Webb, born somewhere in New Jersey (possibly New Hampton, possibly Cape May) @1813 to White father, Indian mother. Ran away from home, @1827, leaving behind "a bunch of sisters, and four brothers who "went West." His father "married again and raised up a whole new family." He finally quit the sea in 1842 when he married Louisa H. Boyd, in Tuscaloosa, AL. After the Civil War, they moved to Marion County, Alabama, with their eight children. William Douglas Webb is my brick wall (along with Louisa), and I am desperately trying to find his New Jersey parents. William Douglas Webb and Louisa Boyd Webb had the following children (all born in Tuscaloosa), most died in or near Marion County, AL. Robert Anderson Webb, b 1844, d 1927 (Confederate soldier, was with Lee at Appamatox) Margarette Webb, b 1846, d unknown Lindsey Webb, b 1847, d 1933 James Abner Webb, b 1850, d unknown Jacob Douglas Webb, b 1861, d 1949 (my g-grandfather) Melvin Jasper Webb, b 1865, d 1957 Rebecca Webb, b unknown, d unknown Julie Webb, b unknown, d unknown Any help tracking down William Douglas Webb's parents would be greatly appreciated.
