That particular Jesse Caton was originally from Beaufort County NC. He was brother of my ancestor Moses Caton. He left Beaufort County NC about Feb 1820, went to White County TN (on 1820 census), then to Warren County TN (on 1830 census) . My understanding is that many families from Hyde County NC and Beaufort County NC went to the same areas in that time frame. If you want to see more on this family, please let me know.
