Sam, I've given you John WEBB quite a bit of thought actually but haven't really been able to fit him in anywhere. I was wondering about the fact that he died in IL/IN? I'm not too sure I'd recognize him if I came across anything as I have no idea who any of his children were or ages except now for the George you mention. I have to admit I'm also a bit skeptical and inclined to think that he must have been born before 1790. Since by DNA you connect to the John WEBB & Mary BOONE line I'll list a few of their related lines that I know were in IL & IN before 1835. 1) Asa WEBB, son of James WEBB & Mary MATTHEWS, was in Gallatin/White Co., IL by 1816. 2) James WEBB b. 1797, son of Adin WEBB, son of James WEBB & Mary MATTHEWS, was in Sangamon Co., IL by around 1825. 3) Moses WEBB b. c1761 is probably a son of George WEBB b. 1723 and he died 1833 probably in Morgan Co., IL have come from Cumberland Co., KY and having come there via Overton Co., TN. There is in the 1835 census of Morgan Co., IL a John WEBB who I assumed was the son of Moses WEBB b. 1761 and I assumed he returned to Cumberland Co., KY. Moses we know did have a son John. Perhaps this is not Moses' son there and this is your John WEBB? Might be worth looking into and I doubt that the Moses WEBB folks would mind if you turn up something for them if it doesn't fit your John. 4) Samuel WEBB & Sarah HALLER were in Orange Co., IN before 1830. Samuel b. 1762 according to the DAR application was born in SC as was his wife Sarah HALLER but they married in Berks Co., PA The evidence is quite strong that Sarah was never in SC and its unlikely that Samuel was born there either. There is some pretty suspicious stuff in the DAR application. However, the proof of Sarah's ancestry to Henry HALLER of Berks Co., PA is rock solid. And we also know that their dau Elizabeth was baptized in Berks Co., PA. Also one of the sons of Adin WEBB above was bond on the Clark Co., KY marriage of one of Samuel's children. 5) Jonathan WEBB, son of George b. 1732, was definitely in Franklin Co., IN bef 1814. That's a short and probably incomplete list and doesn't even include any relations by marriage. What about siblings of the wife of your John WEBB - were any of them in IL by 1835? I've been pretty well through the Gallatin/White Co., IL records and don't recall an unaccounted for death of a John WEBB there. But I've not looked very deeply at the Sangamon Co., IL records. I don't have anything else on a George Washington WEBB that I could say might fit a son of your John. I am aware of the George in Texas you refer to as I ran into him while looking at the children thought to be sons of John WEBB, son of Benjamin of Sullivan Co., TN. Sorry, best I have to offer at the moment. I'm still missing several children of James and Mary. And for that matter I'm sure we're missing a great many other early Webbs that descend from John WEBB & Mary BOONE. I do have a bunch of new stuff in Ohio I'm working on but not ready to put it all out yet as it isn't fully documented. But I it isn't possible that it could include any male WEBBs b. bef 1790. I also just recently found a John WEBB in Berks Co. who I was unaware of but he would have been born before about 1775 and married Sarah NAGLE/NAGEL in 1793. No idea who he is yet but supposedly his wife died in Ohio. He may connect somehow to the Chester Co., WEBB or perhaps a son of Samuel b. 1740. By the way, was administration of the estate of your John in TN or would we expect to possibly find it somewhere else? Any possibility that any of his children were already in IL/IN? One last suggestion - don't necessarily accept that someone who looks plausible isn't your John just because someone else says it is so. Especially if they can't provide proof. I did that with James and it cost me several years of not pursuing the correct ancestry. Bob Keyes ----- Original Message ----- From: "Sammy R.
