    1. [WEBB] My brick wall - William Julius Webb, TN
    2. Mickey W. Fletcher
    3. The verbal tradition within the Webb side of my family has it that 5 Webb brothers came to America from Wales in a great ship during colonial times. They initially lived in Virginia before migrating West. It is also believed that these brothers were somehow related to Samuel Blatchley Webb from CT, who has a storied history during the Revolutionary War; Samuel is descended from Richard Webb of Gloucestershire, England. Two of the 5 brothers went to Kentucky where they opened a weaving shop. My line ultimately ended up in Tennessee where my brick wall starts. The brick wall is William Julius Webb who also went by Julius Webb, who we know lived in Bedford Co. (in the southern part of Middle Tennessee), Gibson Co. (central Western Tennessee), and possibly later in either Lake or Obion Co. He married a Cherokee indian named Esther. When Esther died, she was buried near Reelfoot Lake. They had 2 boys Isaiah Thomas and Jeremiah. Isaiah Thomas married Mary Moore on 21 June, 1837 in Gibson Co. TN, and Jeremiah married Peggy Stafford 31 October, 1838 in Gibson Co. TN. My GG Grandfather, Isaiah Thomas Webb was born in Bedford Co. TN on 13 Jan., 1815. At the age of 4, his parents moved to Gibson Co. TN. After Isaiah and Mary were married, they lived in Bedford Co for several years before migrating to Missouri in 1852. They moved multiple times upon their arrival to Missouri and even once lived just West of Fort Scott, KS at the outbreak of the Civil War before eventually settling in Wright Co. MO where they lived until their deaths. Mary died 13 Dec., 1885, and Isaiah Thomas died 4 Oct. 1889. Both are buried in the Davis Cemetery just North of Grovesprings, MO. They had the following Children: 1. Albert Johson Webb, Born 5 Aug., 1837, Died 18 Dec., 1916. Married to Malinda C. Bohannon in 1861. Children: Tom, Gabe, Willie, Diddy, and John 2. Mary Jane Webb, Born 9 March, 1839, Died ?. Married to Nelson Monroe Bohannon and had a son, Abraham Wilson Bohannon. Married a second time to Gabe Davis on 1 Sept., 1864 and had the following children: Tom, John, Mary (Molly), and Coleman (Dick) 3. Roxana Telitha Catherine Webb, born 9 Dec., 1840, Died 1 Jan., 1867. Married to William F. (Will) Moore and moved to Texas about 1877. Their children were: Mary, Lantie, and Arthur 4. William Julius (II) Webb, Born 10 Mar., 1843, Died 22 Dec., 1906. William Julius fought for the Confederacy for the duration of the Civil War and was mustered out in Lousianan. He married Elizabeth Jane Davis on 6 Dec., 1866. To this union were born the following children: Mary Adaline, Mattie Belle, Lou Nora, Calvin, LaVada, William H., Ella, Maggie, Albert, Ida, Elbridge, Ruth, Floyd, and Ray. 5. Lucretia Artella Webb, Born 8 Nov., 1844, Died ?. 6. Elizabeth Serena Webb, Born 3 December, 1846, Died ?. Married to John Kindrick. Children: Gertie and Ira. 7. Emeziah Wedington Webb, born 13 Oct., 1848, Died ? Married to Martha Louisa Cantrell. Children: Emily, Mary, Foster, Jacob, William Julius (died young), Cora, Amy, Adah, Pearl, Tressie, and John David. 8. Isaiah Glover Webb, Born 7 Feb., 1851, Died 11 Apr., 1935. Married Sarah Frances Davis on 18 August, 1870. Children were: Delia, William Albert, Jesse, Archie, Clint, and Minnie Bell. 9. Parthenia Arabella, Born 24 Mar., 1853; Died between 1920 and 1925 near Dallas TX. Married Ben Smith and had at least 2 children: Lee and Press. 10. Sarah Vandalia Webb, Born 2 Jun., 1857; Died 1935. Married Thomas J. Smittle (1855 - 1926). Children: Glover (who married Tempie Calton), Lee, Vester (who married Jessie O'Dell), Lina (who married Everett Moore, a son of Joe Moore). 11. Rachel Marilla, Born 3 Mar., 1860, Died ? Married Tom Hoskins and had the following children: Oscar, Lora, and Emily. Later married Jim Lawson and had at least 2 children: Josie and Lula. My G Grandfather, Isaiah Glover Webb homesteaded a farm in Wright Co. Missouri that is still in the Webb family. It is owned by a daughter of Clint and Mamie Webb, Greta Webb. My Grandfather, William Albert "Albert" Webb was born 18 Jun., 1878 and died 27 Mar., 1966. He married Etta Deliza Gourley on 2 Oct., 1898 and seven children were born. Etta died on 24 Nov., 1946. Their children were: Jessie, Venus, Glover Arnold, Wallace S., Willow, Clell, and Wilma Phyllis (my mother). The Webb's were all Masons. Sorry for the length of this mail, but hopefully it will help someone and perhaps someone can help me with my brick wall. 3. This may be of interest to Micky Fletcher. We must use every avenue we can to clear up our brick walls. John Webb, 1714 of Northampton, NC had one son named Jesse, 1756-1837, that married Mary Lucretia Taylor and they lived and died in Franklin Co., NC. Their son William Taylor Webb,1790-1859, migrated to Gibson Co., Tennessee and married Mouning Denby Ely. Just by chance, there might be a connection between William Taylor Webb and William Julius Webb. Take a look at my history. http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/w/e/b/Ottice-Gilbert-Webb-KY/ Ottice Webb Stanton, KY ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mickey W.
