Would some one on the list be able to help me with information on this couple. I have it that Forrest was b. 1743 in Spotsylvania, VA, married Catherine in 1768 in Spotsylvania, migrated to KY and then into Fayette Co, IN where he died. I understand he had a number of children (not sure how many or all the names) but one that is interesting me is a John Webb that from one source I have found was b. abt 1784. I am trying to locate the parents of my 3rd G-Grandfather John Webb. All the information I have on him is that he was born 15 Nov 1786 (from his headstone in Smith Cemetery, Clinton Co., IN) in North Carolina (from the 1850 Clinton Co., IN census) and that he died on 25 Jan 1856 in Clinton Co. He had 2 known wives, Elizabeth Coy, married 1814 in Garrard Co., KY and Jane Heathcoat, married 17 Jan 1856 in Clinton Co.,IN. We know John and Elizabeth were in IN abt 1816 for the birth of my 2nd G-Grandfather William Webb and again on 1 Jan 1818 for the birth of his first known daughter Elizabeth Webb. Yet John does not show up in the 1820 IN census as a head of household. My Webb's did business, traveled and intermarried with Smith and Lineback families that we can traced to Switzerland Co., IN as early as 1821. We know John Webb was in Switzerland Co., IN on 21 July 1825 for the birth of his second known son George W. Webb. Fayette Co., IN is just north of Switzerland Co., IN. Since John Webb was known to reside in Switzerland Co. from 1825 to abt 1849 that we can document and the close proximity of the 2 counties, I am searching for a possible link. Would anyone have information on the John Webb that was the son of Forrest Webb? Happy Holidays. Bill
