Hi Marcia, Great to hear from you again! Boy all of your info seems to make sense and does match up to the time periods! I believe that Elizabeth Webb and James Stewart married abt. 1865. Their first son William was born in 1868 ( he is listed in the 1880 census as 12 years in old, White Co). I know for a fact that they were not in White County until after 1870. They are not listed on any census in White County until 1880. Also they had a daughter that I just discovered named Manda, who is 9 years old in the 1880 census. Elizabeth would have been about 8 (depending on the time of year) when the census was taken in 1850. I made a trip with my family to Morgan and Roane County and did not find out much of anything. We thought he was in White County by 1850. We found out that we were wrong when we went to the Ft. Wayne Genealogy Library Friday. We kept searching in White County and came up empty handed until 1880. What an exhausting day..there is so much info to sort through! I came home exasperated and am now ready to focus on different counties. You just helped me a great deal and I appreciate it! I am sure that you are on the right track with Elizabeth Webb, it make sense. One thing I found odd though.... I cannot find a marriage record/bond for them. Is that typical? Does one need to go to the county courthouse to find that? I thought Ft. Wayne would have it. Thanks so much Marcia...I will stay in touch... Dawn Burkhalter
