    2. Hi Sue, I think you are the one doing lookups in the Webb's of Virginia book.. if not just delete this.. I have been watching these postings and have not seen anything that looks like my Webb line BUT... could you see if there is any mention of the name ADDISON Webb in the book... this name appears in Webb's in Ill and Ohio, and then my Webb line With Addison R. Webb b:1797 either Va or Ky, noone knows for sure. He married a Nancy Dillon of Va/WVa. in the early 1800's (1824ish) and this is my Brick Wall.. Maybe ... Just Maybe there is something in that Webb book regarding the Addison Name. Thank You, Louise Kay Horton

    3. p.126, Ch.6, "Virginia Roots-Webbs in 1880 Soundex born in Virginia," from Ron Turner's "Webb Families of the Virginias." Johnson County, Kentucky WEBB, Jonathan, 62, b.VA Mary, 54, b.VA George W., 36, b.VA Peggy A., 34, b.VA William, 25, b.KY John, 32, b.KY Nancy, 20, b.KY Adison, 18, b.KY Charles N. (gs), 3, b.KY (appears to be listed as one household) Only Dillons listed are a Frances and a Mary. Some years ago I helped a friend search her Dillon line and recall distinctly, for it was like falling into a gold mine. The family originated in Ireland and there are tons of Dillon records of them settling in the "Blackwater region of Franklin County, VA," very early 1800s. One of the genealogical publications led me to one of that counties' historical books and from there it was gravy, with the exception of following the county-line breakups as the county split into several others. Hope you can find your Dillons there and if so - maybe the Webbs. This Addison is too young to be the one you seek, but as it is such a unique name, could have been named for an ancestor. (I know, I grab any possibility.) Happy hunting. Sue At 10:41 AM 7/3/01 -0400, you wrote: >Hi Sue, > I think you are the one doing lookups in the Webb's of Virginia book.. if >not just delete this..
