It would be nice if this had been cleared via ME the list owner I do not mind others who join in to do things for the name of genealogy How ever this option has ALWAYS been available via the lists OWNER and a place has always been set aside for it with the website that is supported by the list owner . The below message was missing the proper wording or tact , after getting a complaint about it I have reread it over several times and have decided that the way it was sent was wrong and not becoming of a list admin , I offer apologies to every one and Mike too . It might have said Thanks Mike we need more people like you to do these things. This wording was wrong , what I meant was Welcome?<sigh> On the next line - re reading this one , comes to mind a bit rude and it only means a reminder we have a web site we were working on we have never completed, how ever so many times I say (* you can never get enough advertising in genealogy *) Again , worded wrong - Next it would be nice for people to preplan a major undertaking and let the list admin know so we can create a plan to make it work smoothly because I like to help people or even be involved in a new plan l;-) Next line = about posting in private = this is always a rule of thumb when something has been offered to a list that many may wish to be involved in because of the membership being so large that 600 people wanting to be involved all posting to the list could be a major e-mail undertaking to people who are not concerned in taking the names of those taking part , as well as those with small mail boxs and getting bounced off the list for over fill of their mail while not home . Next line , had Mike ask etc: only goes to preplanning , was not a complaint , just a suggestion that this would have averted a trend of the same me too's /\ Next line - we did loose some people who got frustrated , I will write them , they may come back ok. Next line = Anyone who has new ideas etc: Hey we need new Ideas all the time , we should make some plans before popping up with them to see how good we can get them advertised and answered ? This was an attempt to explain what my message below was supposed to mean , I was not trying to blast Mike, but I am curious about a few things, but have been writing to him in private and hope to work on this , we need people like Mike and a few others to do these things, any one need help on a web site, I am willing to help, also have a list for this too.
