    2. I have a James M. Webb who was living in Rankin Co., MS in 1860 with Wife Angeline and 11/12 daughter E. J. He was killed. I am trying to determine his unit of service. If any of these are yours, please let me know! # 1 James M. Webb in GA 3rd Cav. (State Guards) Co A Hartwell Rangers This regiment was organized in August 1863 for six months to serve as local defense in the 4th, 5th, 6th and 9th Congressional Districts, including the counties of Wilkes, Lincoln, Columbia, Richmond, Warren, DeKalb and Fulton. Fourth District Baldwin, Bibb, Crawford, Houston, Jasper, Jones, Laurens, Pulaski, Putnam, Twiggs, Wilkinson Fifth District Burke, Columbia, Glascock, Jefferson, Johnson, Lincoln, Richmond, Warren, Washington, Wilkes Sixth District Clark, Elbert, Franklin, Greene, Hart, Madison, Morgan, Newton, Oglethorpe, Taliaferro, Walton #2 James M. Webb in GA 22nd Inf. Co. E. 1st Sgt. Co. E Warsaw Rebels H. W. Howell Joseph D. Foster Forsyth, Milton This company was organized as Co. B and became Co. E during the first reorganization of this regiment. This regiment appears to have been organized about August 1861. It underwent two reorganizations resulting in changes in company designations # 3 James M. D. Webb in GA Cav 7th Bn. (State Guards) Co. C (possibly same as #1?) Co. C Baldwin Cavalry Samuel G.
