Sue, I sent for some records from the Texas Archives because I thought perhaps some of my Webbs were among them. I ordered all the names that showed up in my family, and William was among those names. What I have is a receipt for pay signed by William Webb (the W. middle initial is taken from a posting on the Webb Forum that says the govt records -- NARA -- have a William W. Webb in the Spanish American War). It gives his rank and company and is dated August 1901. And there is an address (which I am withholding to try to determine who he belongs to -- i.e., if you can tell me, I will believe he is yours <G>). I had hoped this was my William Webb, but he died in 1895, or so we are told, so the 1901 date excludes him. Anne
