My Moses Webb was also in the Mammoth Cave area around 1796. This leaves me wondering if he could be related to Martin and/or Merry. Moses was born abt 1755-56, supposedly in Berks Co PA. He enlisted at Reading PA and about 1783 moved with his father (unnamed) to the Holston River area in TN. Before 1796 they moved to Eutaw Springs, SC, and around 1796 settled in KY near Mammoth Cave. >From there Moses went to Green Co KY, Overton Co TN, and ended up in Cumberland Co KY in 1820. When he reapplied for his Rev War pension, he stated his wife (unnamed) had been dead about 4 years. He listed his children: Hannah, John, Benjamin, Mary, Washington, and Moses, Jr as well as Hannah's two children: (George) Washington and Moses. Hannah was the widow of Archibald C. Sevier. Is This the same Moses? While residing in Reading, Pennsylvania, Moses Webb, at the age of fourteen or fifteen years, enlisted as a drummer under Capt. Noyle (or Naugle) and was engaged in recruiting. During this service he was in the battles at Germantown and White Plains. Soon after this service he moved with his father to the Holston River in North Carolina (later Tennessee). He joined Col. Shelby and was in the battle at Kings Mountain. Thereafter, he moved to Eutaw Springs, South Carolina. He was a sergeant in a horse troop under Capt. McKelvey and Col. Mayham and was in the engagements at Santee, at Simmermen's, and at Tazewell Point. Hannah Sevier was his daughter. He was allowed pension on his application executed 16 September 1818 while residing in Tennessee. In 1832 he was residing in Morgan County, Illinois. EPA 535113; AA 8308; SCH&C, V, 118.
