An amazing couple, they didn't seem to age much between the 1860 TN census and the 1870 TN census, did they? Yet the children are all 10 years older! Karen, These are my g/grandparents. Jasper Webb was first married to Anna Ray, but something happened to their marriage that is still a mystery to me. The Wilson Webb on the 1870 Census is my grandfather; I have a picture of him with Martha Jane Duncan, his first of three wives; she died in 1908 from pneumonia. Martha Jane's grandfather was the older David Shelton murdered in the infamous Shelton Laurel Massacre in 1863 in Madison County, NC; I have visited the scene of the massacre--it was sorta of an errie feeling.
