Leo; Yep, it is kinda' wet over here. The Red River really gets out of its banks at Bowen and Clay City. Jimmy Webb of ("The Fixit Shop") said his grandfather (or Great) came to Kentucky back early in the century to work in the Coal Mines. He came from around LaFollet Tennessee. I have never been able to find out what happened to John Webb's sons, John, Jesse, and Ethelred. You have to suppose that a lot of Webbs went to Tennessee, Kentucky, Arkansas, and Missouri, as the migration began. When I was a Navy Recruiter in Jackson Tennessee, (West Tenn.) I ran in to a lot of Webbs that were out of "Exum Webb". They don't seem to be a part of my Webbs. I wonder why my ggg-grandfather William Webb came to Madison County in 1818 "VIA" Buncombe Co., N.C.? There may have been an uncle there, or better yet, his brother John. His wife, Dorothea Winborne had a brother named Jesse Winborne that came to Madison County in 1807. Jesse changed the spelling later on and became "Winburn"....................Yes, every Winburn in Estill, Powell, and Madison Counties is a product of old Jesse. He moved on and died in Alabama. If you have looked at my work, you see that there is an absence of info on John Webbs children. I can't afford a professional genealogist to search North Carolina for them. I only hope that someday a Webb will connect with me and we can share info. Give me a URL that I can find your work. Good hearing from you Leo.
