William Webb b abt 1766-d abt 1848 came to Edgecombe County, NC abt 1790 to live in the Macclesfield area. He had three children, wife's name unknown --a son and two daughters, names of children unknown. It is believed that he is the brother of John Webb, Sr. 1763-1842 who came to Edgecombe County about the same time. At William Webb's estate sale, the names of many of the buyers appear to be the sons of John Webb, Jr. In 1840, when he was about 74 years old, he married Sarah Sally Amerson, who I "think" may be the daughter of Isaac Amerson and Delanah Woodard. Their son, John Amerson, was a buyer at the estate sale of William Webb when he died about 1848. During the eight years he was married to Sally Amerson, he had three children, all three being under 8 years of age at his death. He left his first set of children nothing in his will, but since their ages in 1848 were possibly 35 for the son, 54 for one daughter, and 64 for another daughter, it is possible that at least the daughters were no longer alive. Looking for information on William Webb 1766-1848. Was Sarah Sally Amerson's father Isaac Amerson? He came here with one daughter born about 1784 who probably married a neighbor. Another daughter was born after his arrival in the Macclesfield area, about 1794, and a son possibly being born about 1805, maybe a few years earlier or later. Faye Hays - May 13, 2006
