He did not serve but had a substitute, Moses Plowman. He had a home plantation lying on the South Yadkin River in Iredell County and 200 acres of land on the waters of Swisher's Creek in Surry County. the State of North Carolina granted him 500 acres on 04 Nov. 1784. His WILL (Will Book I No 171 page 2267) mentions many household items such as horses, slaves, livestock, a still and tubes, cooper's, joiner's, shoemaker's and farming tools. Later sold it and moved to Lick Run Creek that flows into Obey River in Clay County, TN. Where he bought about 100 acres. He died on this land and ws buried on it in an old cemetery in an unmarked grave. When the Dale Hollow Dam was built and flooded the area, this old cemetary was moved in 1943 to Donaldson Cemetary on Pea Ridge in Clay Co., TN info from Walter E.
