Dear Richard, It might mean nothing at all, but my ggggrandfather WEBB in GA (b. c. 1785, NC and married 1809 in GA) was a "turner" which I am told could be a carpenter or stone mason who uses a lathe. Have not identified his father, although I have a narrow list (2 serious, 1 offchance and the possibility of a "wild card") of candidates, and I think I DO know their father. Do you have ANY names of WEBBs from this branch that might have come to the colonies -- as this trade was often handed down, especially at that time. Anne
